HW - Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation

Horse Welfare Inc has been involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of horses since 1992. Recent formalisation of the group has led to ATO approval as a Deductible Gift Recipient and Tax Concession Charity. We have also obtained OLGR approval to perform charity fundraisers. Through the development of this site we aim to raise the awareness of the plight of horses in need in this country. In recent years the media has jumped on this bandwagon by covering stories of the Brumbies in Guy Fawkes and Kosciousko National Parks, and more recent years the "Guyra Horses".

The Guyra horses were broadcast far and wide when a young local lady with the right connections got hold of the story and actually did something about it. This group of horses were consistent of mares and foals and mostly unhandled youngstock. A total of 120 horses (ponies) were lined up for slaughter with 48hours to go. ALL OF THESES HORSES WERE SAVED!!

This was a classic lesson in team work, incentive and the nature of good will.
